Old Habits Die Hard

Moto jacket: Zipia
Knit cardigan: H&M
Chiffon dress: Zara
Boots: Aldo

There's something about a good flower print that I cannot resist. I love all kinds of prints but I always end up buying something flower-printed out of habit. I got this black flower printed chiffon dress from Zara for only 15$. I love their stock clearance, you can score so many nice things for cheap. The trick is to go often which I've been doing too often in the past month.

I shot these photos near my house because I haven't gone out this week. Other than catching up on my readings and finishing my quiz, I've been a big lazy panda. It's so comfortable to lounge in sweatpants all day long : } Wearing ugly clothes makes you feel ugly after a while, so I decided to dress up even if I was staying inside.

I'm not a hat person because they look weird on me but I really like the look of a newsboy cap. I've been searching for a nice one for a long time and I kinda forgot about it until they started popping up everywhere on my favourite Korean online website: Zipia! I immediately snatched a cheaper version from G-market (Korean ebay).

I got this cute quilted bag for party purposes but Monkey thinks it's too kawaii for me 'cause I'm old (thanks buddy). As long as I don't dress like this, I don't see the harm in injecting some cuteness in your wardrobe!

I can't believe how fast each month is passing. Tomorrow is already March! My new year's resolution was to do something new each month but I don't think I accomplished anything new for February *shamefully hides*. I have a couple of exciting projects for March so perhaps that will make up for the lack of action this month ^___^;

Hey, Diane! Can we go thrift shopping?

Can you believe it? September is almost coming to an end! You students know what that means: assignments, midterms, projects, presentations, quizzes and all that good stuff waiting for us with open arms! I'm kinda surprised at how quickly time passed by. These pictures were taken a few weeks back. I had a long break between two classes so Diane and I decided to go into town and snap some pictures!

Borrowing Diane's drop-waist dress. The drop waist dress with a baggy cardigan gives a childish silhouette which makes me feel youthful ^___^Y.

Dress: Diane's (Zara)
Cardigan: G-market

Oxfords: Zara

These shoes have been go-to shoes for the entire spring and summer. They are actually still in good condition (surprisingly since they are from Zara).

I like the pattern on my cardigan : )

Diane being unusually colorful!

Love the polka dotted bright pink pants!

Pops of color everywhere to contrast with the cloudy day!

Diane and I went shopping at a thrift store nearby because she told me they have the best stuff! I mentioned previously that I never find much in thrift stores but that I'm willing to reconsider thrifting. We entered the store and 10 minutes in, I was already not impressed. The way I usually shop is: I quickly scan a pile of stuff, try to find a color/pattern/material that is eye-catching and if there isn't anything, I move onto another section. This technique is not good if you are thrifting! You gotta go through each piece individually! Soon, Diane started pulling out super nice items like a magician pulls out bunnies from its hat! We got so pumped up that I ended up skipping my class LOL...

Just some of the goodies we thrifted! I bought a lot more and it only ended costing me a fraction of the price I would've paid for that amount of stuff in retail shops : 3 WAHHH GOTTA LOVE CHEAP STUFF!

This is what I've been doing the past month (instead of studying): READING A SHIAT LOAD OF MANGA! My favorite so far is 360 degrees Material. The story is typically shojo: dumb girl likes smart boy that is cute but the pace is nice because the main characters are actually straight forward with their feelings!!!

Synopsis from Wild*Hope: Taki is the cool yet strange guy in Mio's class. She bumps into him at the subway station after school and saves him after he almost gets pushed onto the tracks. The next day, he returns the favor by saving her from an incoming car. This marks the start of Mio's love.

I have a soft spot for girly mangas because of my childhood. Spent lotsa time reading and drawing mangas so from time to time, I'd read some shojo mangas just to feel that innocent feeling again : )
The semester is picking up soon so I gotta put these things aside and start studying forreal >___<!!!
Another semester to brave through!

Vintage Lovers Beware!

Hey guys, I'm being a lazy blogger right now because summer is coming to an end and I'm stuck at home, preparing for a new school year! I'm posting pictures from over two weeks ago when I had a hangout with Miss Adri

Adrienne and I decided to meet outside a metro station and there was a random piano in the middle of the street. Some guy was playing it while his kid buddies waited for him : P No idea if this piano belonged to anyone or if it's for the sake of street art but it was really cool! It even has a face!

My mom, being a typical asian mom always looked down on second hand clothes. So ever since I was young, I've been drilled with superstitious beliefs that you'd get aids and all kinds of diseases from wearing strangers' hand-me-downs. I remember when I was still in high school, vintage started to become allllll the rage! New clothes just weren't as cool as the one of a kind super cheap bargain you find in a thrift store! Since I'm a lazy panda, going through racks and racks of ugly fashions discouraged me. I tried thrifting a couple of times but never found anything that matched me. So I decided that I don't like second hand stores, that is, until Adrienne brought me to the coolest thrift shop ever!

Boutique Eva B *thanks to Lily for the name of this place because I totally didn't catch it*
2015 St Laurent Blvd

Even before entering, your senses are overwhelmed by the sheer amount of stuff occupying the space!

They had different sections ranging from really cheap goods to more refined vintage finds to costumes, they even had multiple floors!

This is a big pit of clothes that is supposedly a few meters tall?! Everything in this huge pit is 1$, if you are an avid digger, knock yourself out! I know that I was too scared to fall inside the pit and drown in piles of clothes!

Freaky body parts dangling in the air : P

SO MUCH STUFF!

EVEN MORE STUFFS!

There is a cafe inside the shop and the shop assistant made us try a coriander lemonade, it was really yummy : )

LOTSA GOODIES!

Cute A-line skirt for 5$!

Are you dizzy yet from all the stuff???

If you're tired of shopping, grab a seat on the second floor patio while your friend rummages through more stuff!

They even had a patio downstairs and you can walk in and not buy anything and just sit there : ) *future hangout idea?*

Free popcorn! I didn't take one because I only noticed it was free when I was editing the picture =P

This shop is really cool and quite a few things caught my eye but I only left with a scarf. I'm excited to go back there again! Maybe I'll try and find my Halloween costumes there ;-D

Hit & Miss

I always feel that ordering from Asos is a tricky business yet I let myself gamble hoping that it would be different this time around. Like the last few times I ordered, it was a hit and a miss.

THE HIT:

This mini bodycon dress is from the UK brand River Island and it is simply amazing! I went into River Island last year when I was in the Netherlands and loooooveeee their styles!
Asos was having a sale so I got this dress for around 35$ The material is quite thick and tight so it holds all the love handles in >:-D I love the metallic details and it reminds me of something a modern Cleopatra would wear! I don't have any bold items in my closet so I thought: why not? This is by far the most daring dress I have.

THE MISS:

The metallic strap definitely grabbed my attention when I was browsing Asos! I also liked how the white straps criss-crossed each other. The sandals are very comfortable but they look quite chunky on my foot : P I hate it when something looks good alone but not on you >___< DARN IT!
So in the end, I'm quite disappointed with these shoes, I have no idea how I'm gonna incorporate them with my wardrobe but I'll figure it out D:

Online shopping is eating away my soul (and wallet)! I need to get another hobby D;
